What is your running history?
I grew up playing football and hockey; running didn't exist except for 10 yards at a time. After a few years of college football, I wanted to drop weight and challenge myself at something new. 70 lbs later and many road races completed, I have come to love trail running the most. It really combines my love for adventure and traveling to remote places with running, a sport I have grown to really enjoy.
What running groups/communities are you involved with?
TC Running Company, Hammer Nutrition, Upper Midwest Trail Runners
What is your favorite running experience?
Traveling to a new mountain town, referencing a couple topographic maps, and hitting a new trail high into the mountains.
What events are you running/racing in 2016? What are your goals?
South Mountain Marathon, Gorge Waterfalls 100k, White River 50, Leadville 100, and a handful of local events. I hope to run a sub 20 hour 100 mile time and continue to develop competitively.
What do you talk about when you talk about running?
I'm usually the quiet one.
What is your favorite Fitsok sock and why?
I love the ISW Isolwool Trail Cuff hands down. I have run for over 24 hrs in it, put it through snow, rivers, and insane amounts of mud without ever having foot issues. It is also versatile enough to rock on the bike and get away with in the office.
