Athlete Profile

Fitsok is excited to tell the stories of runners across the country and how they RUN FOR IT every day.

Kelly Jensen, 36

Kelly, where is your favorite place to run?

I don’t really have a favorite place to run. I like to train
where there is scenery and I like to be by myself. Running is my time
to meditate and focus on my training. I like to be at peace while I’m
training because when I get to the start line of a race, I am full of
energy and ready to push the limits.

You’ve had a really active triathlon schedule over the past couple years. How has that complimented your running?

Triathlon has definitely made me a stronger runner. It has helped
me build endurance, the cross training has helped me balance out my
body, and it has really helped me build confidence.

When you line up at the Boston Marathon this year, what will be going through your mind at the start line?

I will be thinking of the amazing runners I trained with this
winter and will be sending positive vibes their way and then I will be
focusing on me, this race is about me. It is the opportunity to
believe in myself and believe in my training. I will also remind
myself to smile because it is going to be a fun day!

How have you stayed motivated to become a faster runner and triathlete?

My motivation comes from wanting to be fast, so I figure out how
to keep improving. I also have a side of me that loves endurance. I
loved doing the Ironman, it was such an amazing experience. The
mixture of endurance and speed keeps me balanced.

Kelly, what is it you run for?

I run for me. Running helps me to live a healthy lifestyle and I
feel good about myself when I take care of my body and mind. I also
want to set a positive example in the community. People recognize me
in the community as an athlete and that means a lot to me. I just
thought of myself as a crazy runner girl.

Tell us about your experience wearing Fitsok!

I got my first pair of Fitsok when I ran my first marathon, Twin
Cities in 2008. I have been wearing Fitsok ever since. I wear the
CF2 for training and the F4 for racing and also when I’m doing
speedwork on a treadmill. The ISW keep my feet warm when I’m logging
miles outside in the cold. I’ve never had a blister or any foot
issues so I have definitely found the right product to keep my feet
healthy.
