Athlete Profile

Fitsok is excited to tell the stories of runners across the country and how they RUN FOR IT every day.

Dan Cadriel, 48

When did you start running and participating in triathlons?

First 10k was in college in 1983. Barely finished under an hour. First Triathlon was in 1987 .

Where is your favorite place to run?

Any path in the pine country like Prescott or Flagstaff AZ since it is so different from my day to day training locally on the streets.

Based in Arizona, how do you deal with training during the extreme hot months?

I love the heat, or more specifically, I hate the cold! My favorite workouts are at 5am in the 80+ degree temps during the summer! Sunny, quiet and sweaty – Perfection!

You’ve been finding yourself on more podiums recently! As you get older, do you feel like success has become more natural or more difficult?

Maybe both! As an age group athlete ages, there has to be a decision to train smarter and not just harder. Recovery is so important and making every workout count (no junk mileage) is the key. I truly feel Triathlon is the “Fountain of Youth” because of the cross training benefits (two of the three disciplines are low impact) and the need to maintain core strength.

What’s your favorite part about coaching runners?

Building a respect for running, training and developing a healthy lifestyle. Very few student athletes will ever make it to college ranks let alone pro status in other high school sports, but you can be a runner for life. I love it when my Cross Country kids decide to train for a 10k or half marathon and then reach their goal! Very fulfilling on so many levels!

Tell us about your experience with Fitsok!

After receiving a couple of pairs of Fitsok, I was so please with the variety of styles and fit. I am wearing them exclusively this 2012 season and so far so good! Stellar performances and no blisters or issues at all. I am hooked!
